If You Take a Mouse to School...

Hi lovlies! I just finished up with the children's show I've been rehearsing/performing for forever!! I cannot believe it's done.  It was such a fun show, even with screaming children and 20+ performances.  The show was "If You Take a Mouse to School" and I played the Teacher and Mother Mouse (Grandma Mouse) complete with ears.  I am actually obsessed with my teacher costume (a screaming pink suit) that I'm greatly considering buying it..GREATLY!  The overall theme was very pink, so I did my makeup to match.
UD Liquid Liner in Pervasion, MAC Creme Blush in Florida, discontinued Makeup Forever pink Lipstick, and Wet n' Wild Eyeshadow trio (magenta color) in Spoiled Brat= basic makeup usage.  I had a quick change where I had to wipe this all off and turn into...
MOTHER MOUSE! This is some basic old-age makeup (and old-age clothing, hello lovely not totally turtleneck...) without speckling with my favorite stipple sponge because the lighting made it...wonky.  Of course, this looks super cartoony and odd, but, with the magic of stage lights, I looked relatively and realistically old.  It was funny because the majority of the children didn't even realize I was both roles, haha, silly children. This was actually applied in about two minutes because, it was a quick change with the basic highlighter and character shadow from my Ben Nye makeup kit. You can see my more intense aging/realistic aging makeup here.  All in all, I had a fun time, slapping on my makeup running around two shows a day, eeek! I have a ton of makeup to review/blog about now that I have a semblance of a life.  Plus classes...eeek, classes...Until then...

Look Ma, I Got Gills! Dun dun...dun dun...DAH!

My favorite holiday week in the whole universe is SHARK WEEK! AJFve37378&%%#$^%$%&*!!!! And I'm not one of those people who happen upon Shark Week, I legit knew when it was coming.  And, with Shark Week being pretty popular and such (trending on twitter=popular...hahaha..hah.ha) I'm surprised that there has been no shark-inspired makeup.  Really? I mean, sharks totes deserve a week to themselves and therefore deserve makeup inspired by frothing bloody water and the consumption of adorable water creatures.
When good lips turn into sharks...just a cute little something-something I did when I was bored with my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case (Red, Black/White, White)
I'm a shark! Again, I used my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case for the eye.  I coated my lids with the silver and than did detail lines and "gills" on my eyelids with black.  It was just a lot of blending and surrounding the eye in silver.  I added Nyx Glitter Cream Palette Glitter (in Paradise--Silver) extending from the bottom of my eyes and at the last minute decided on some red stripes a la chumming the proverbial water alongside the red dots by the corners of my eyes.  Haha, I feel like my explanation is not as detailed as I normally am...it's probs because I've been having issues doing looks I feel are worthy enough to waste energy on...one of those makeup...blocks?
Lips were lined and filled with a Harjuku Lovers Red Lip Pencil.  And coated with NARS Gloss in Indian Red (LOOOOVE IT!).  I chose red because, again, sharks mouths are actually very red and they tend to be all bloody, yay! I highlighted with the Silver I used on my eyelids.
See the gills? Seeeeee?
Okay, I am majorly tired from all this shark week watching.  See you cats later with another giveaway post :D

Wings So Long I'll Likely Take Flight

This day (Thursday) I went shopping with mi mama at Nordstom for the Anniversary Sale, so of course I had to go all dramatic with the winged eyeliner :) This is just my basic look pretty much: Benefit's Posietint, Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion, Makeup Forever Lipstick in 205, and the base eyeshadow color was Covergirl Eye Enhancer in Golden Sunrise.  I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Lucky on my waterline, above my black liner to clean it up and finally, I swooped it from my waterline underneath the black.  It's a different take on the "popular" double winged cat's eye and I really loved the way this turned out.
Not to be going on about how great I look, haha, jk, jk, I used Benefit's That Gal Primer all over my face under my foundation to give myself a rosier glow.
Closeup on my eye, *twilight zone music cue*
Because I was at le mall of AMERICA! I stopped at Sephora and got some new fun purchases and restocks.  For instance, I was out of my UD De-Slick, which works wonders for touching up and de-slicking excess day face oil.  I had my old one since they invented the stuff and it has lasted that long.  A fab product for sure! I really wanted to try Makeup Forever's new Aqua Liners.  I tested them out today and the liner literally stays on though everything.  I'm talking excessive sweating from learning how to ride a bike (true story) and a dance party with extreme interpretive dancing to Bohemian Rhapsody.  The only downfall is that the brush is a little hard to control, so my lines weren't as precise as I like them to be.  I think with practice, this aspect will improve.
TOKIDOKI lipgloss! I really like Tokidoki makeup products.  I loved their handbags since their invention and I feel like their makeup really fits their overall brand.  It seems like not a ton of people use their makeup though...
OHHHHH, and I got some really cool new Chanel makeup, which will be posted about later, so be prepared.  AND I'm thinking once I hit 50 followers I'll have a lovely little giveaway for all the fab and beautiful and talented followers of my blog.  Thanks so much for the support and lovely comments.  I read them all and really appreciate everything, so hopefully a giveaway will be an acceptable token of my appreciation :)

Hades, Oh Wait, I Meant to Say "James Woods"

Sooooo, this is my second part of my Disney Villains series of looks, yaaaaaay.  I chose Hades from "Hercules" because I just had bought a great cheap turquoise eyeliner AND i was *gasp* watching Family Guy and one of the episodes with James Woods was on so obvi my series of thoughts would go James Woods->James Woods playing James Woods playing Hades playing James Woods, because honestly, that character is pretty much all Mr. Woods, haha.  Love it so much though and even though Meg is not teeechnically a "princess," she has one of the best songs.  I used to listen to it on tape during road trips over and over again, because we were going the distance, ahhhhhhh.
Wish I had some tooth coloring to do his creepy jagged teeth, alas, until a later day....
This look was more of an.. "arty?" take on Hades using certain colors from his character and applying it not quite as literally as my Scar look.  After priming and prepping, I used MAC Eyeshadow in Forgery (silverish) as a base on my lid to brow and under my eye.  I marked out my brows a little with a Hot Topic Black Pencil and did just a mixture of blues from my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case and a Hot Topic Turquoise Pencil.  My lip color was made in the same manner of mixing blues and some things were finished off with Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Ransom and Binge.
Overall, I like the eye and the look, buuuuut I would and tried to take off the slightly awk glitter on the side of my cheekbones and such.  I mean, sometimes I look at it and really like it and sometimes I'm thinking I shouldn't have put it up because of the strange glitter.  But I was thinking Nyx Creme Glitter Palette in Ocean Breeze=similar to flames, yeaaah.

Be Prepared

Another lovely summer day at my volunteering/kind of job, haha.  I was listening to my ipod from my car to the Interact building and "Be Prepared" came on and I suddenly recalled my Scar makeup look I did this past weekend.  Scar has to be one of my favorite Disney villains (and not just because the love of my life, Jeremy Irons, did his voice).  I was, of course, very upset when Mufasa died but "Be Prepared" was my favorite "Lion King" song and I still loved Scar.  When I was little I called it "Scar's Tango" and literally watched it and rewatched it on VHS to a point of needing a new tape of the Lion King.
So, I did a semi-literal approach to Scar makeup but not to the point of doing a lion's face :)
I wish the conturing I did on my face showed up better, but I did a lot of highlighting and shadowing to get a more feline (?) look by applying (with a sponge) Ben Nye Creme Highlight CH-0 Ultralite and Creme Shadow CS-3 Character Shadow.  BUT, as a base, I dusted my face with Urban Decay Baked Bronzer to get the whole tanner look, not that it worked on my uber pale skin :P.
For the eyes, I followed the basic representation of scar in the movie with a dark black liner and filling in my eyebrows with black and then making a shape and filling in with a brown.  I used the Brown and Black from my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case and filled in my lips with the same black.  I softened the  black out with some white on my lips, which was also there to kind of match the white beard-mane without an actual drawn beard.  The literal scar was drawn on with a mixture of Hot Topic Red Eye/Lip Pencil and the Coral color from the Flash Case.

The song, actually one of the best Disney songs ever and fab in general.  Maybe I could wear it out on yourtube as well...
I teased my hair a bit to match Scar's mane, which is perfect because I have a slight widow's peak too! Has anyone noticed that grownup Simba has total 90's hair?

On another note...just a typical day at Interact, I love this place!
So, even though it now appears that there are a ton of Disney looks in the blog-o-sphere as of late I was thinking of doing a Disney villain theme of looks.  Sounds good?

Cause Baby, I'm Quite Literally a Firework

Happy 4th everyone! I decided to do a patriotic-looking makeup look today.  I started my day with the wayyy bottom look and then added on the "fireworks" for tonight's display of fireworks.

I first used my usual Neutrogena concealer and Urban Decay Translucent Powder for my face (combined with some SPF 110 :D).  I used UD's Primer Potion as a base and layered some of the red color from my EyesLipsFace 100-Color Palette on my lids and lightly blended a tiny bit of it into my brow-bone.  I used my UD Liquid Liner in Perversion to do a typical cat's eye and lined my waterline with UD's 24/7 Liner in Electric, with added white lines in Zero.  The fireworks at the corner of my eye was made using Zero and Electric and some of my Hot Topic Red Eye/Lips Pencil. I used UD's Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy to add some sparkle around the liner work and on my lips.  My lipstick had worn off a little when I added the glitter but the initial color is in the last picture and that's Makeup Forever Lipstick in 205.

I used my new sample from Benefit for my cheeks! Benefit's Posietint.  I've never tried Benefit's tints and from the ah-dor-able sample, I can tell I find it simply smashing.  The color and consistency is very pretty and it seems to wear well.  Though, I really have my sights set on Givenchy's tint...so I guess my makeup desires will have to fight each other :)
Patriotic daywear.  Could be seen perhaps...not on the forth? Yes? No?
Soooo, I'm watching the show "Hoarders" right now and am most def having the desire to clean and maybe not look at my makeup in fear of becoming a makeup hoarder :P.  At least I know there are no mummified cats in my makeup.  Just my adorable dog trying to log into skype by stepping on my computer.  Oh, Lucy, what will I do with you?
15-years-old and reading the newspaper? Love my puppy!
