Some rather basic makeup from this look that I forgot to post. I was ever so excited to get my first pair of suspenders and a bow tie and threw together this outfit that is a bit inarguably Doctor Who-inspired. I was meeting my darling friend Ellen for an equally darling Japanese dinner and had to water the plants beforehand, so obviously pictures have to be taken while doing mundane tasks (i.e watering) BUT, our garden did look awfully pretty and one of my favorite areas is by my old playhouse that I'm in the process of cleaning out and turning into a bit of an outdoor-ish reading nook. It was built by my father and uncles I believe back when I was a child, so it's really cute, sturdy, and has these wonderful gargoyles by the doors (which you can kind of see). </div>

Hopefully this weather will stay somewhat nice! Especially because my birthday is coming up soon. I'm turning twenty, so I'm prepping myself for a quarter life crisis that will likely include posting tear-streaked mascara photos on my blog asking what I'm doing with my life. Kidding, only half-kiddddding.</div>

P.S: I did have the <strike>stupid</strike> novel idea of starting a makeup-ish tumblr. My blog's name is Cherries in the Snow (after an old Revlon lipstick). There are some pictures and less-detailed posts that are on this blog and some random odds and ends that I cannot really fit into a "blog" blog. So, please, feel free to find me on there!Shannon http://www.blogger.com/profile/04644190184399990963noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-124939577375271580.post-63223738129549347912012-07-02T22:16:00.000-07:002012-07-08T01:22:42.228-07:00Off With Her Head!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi darling friends. Again, I've dropped off the face of the earth into television, work, and general dilly dallying and have neglected my blog, oy. So, here's a little look I entered in a MakeupBee Lime Crime competition that centers around Marie Antoinette. Oddly enough, I have a pink Antoinette-esque wig in my possession, jammed a few head pieces and slapped on some makeup, and called it a day. Okay, more like lovingly applied Ben Nye Clown White on my face. I always have issues with white face makeup because it never looks even enough, in my humble opinion. Because of this pink wig, decided to do the whole look as a "Pink Marie."<br />

So yes, I'm trying to get back into blogging. Officially, I'm not making promises, haha, but I've missed it. Now I am utterly consumed by "Sherlock," "Doctor Who," and "Game of Thrones," so maybe that will serve as some inspiration. I may also start a makeup Tumblr, just because I really like the formatting of Tumblr and such, so I'll post about it here and hopefully some of you lovely people have Tumblrs. :)</div>

Life always seems to interfere with blog maintenance. You know, school, job searches, copious amounts of British television shows...I've been drawn into the world of "Downton Abbey," "Sherlock," and "Doctor Who," with no sign of surfacing from said world, so, when I get back to serious blogging once the semester is over (in just a month, thankfully!) I will <strike>likely</strike> be doing some BRIT-ISH inspired posts and declaring my love for various British actors. I have a long running joke/annoyance/legit truth that I am BRIT-ISH (yes, said in that manner) that has been entertaining and annoying everyone who interacts with me. It's clearly a good time. So, I am alive, well, a bit overly-caffinated and returning with a simply spring-y look that I wore recently. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYp9x4ZuQ7NyNgHF7fMM47dTGtSxipWG_nZ0C6sN0OpfuK3CISup122Y8F-4WpLhxQaZ6Cl7NkiW_TPjKv0uo6HKn9OLBcjIyJ6m669M5QMiipfmvnRqTymFTex_BpqS6bHeMH3LZmg2So/s1600/IMG_4243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYp9x4ZuQ7NyNgHF7fMM47dTGtSxipWG_nZ0C6sN0OpfuK3CISup122Y8F-4WpLhxQaZ6Cl7NkiW_TPjKv0uo6HKn9OLBcjIyJ6m669M5QMiipfmvnRqTymFTex_BpqS6bHeMH3LZmg2So/s640/IMG_4243.jpg" width="480" /></a></div> I've always been a fan of the two-tone lip look and since it was lovely and spring-y out, I took advantage by doing a pink/orange combo. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTTPKmf_5FJYdOGA-RGzBzctKecbw7ZIFRFX4xX3KDpHMGpgTRQ0-i2UC6AuSicbabDaVZrJjGUoC8i4G5NTn00FLRpE6ZGIMrR8QxkwuDXGjO_RaZ9SnK5GB_051MfnX2vBex1xHf6d7j/s1600/IMG_4238.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTTPKmf_5FJYdOGA-RGzBzctKecbw7ZIFRFX4xX3KDpHMGpgTRQ0-i2UC6AuSicbabDaVZrJjGUoC8i4G5NTn00FLRpE6ZGIMrR8QxkwuDXGjO_RaZ9SnK5GB_051MfnX2vBex1xHf6d7j/s400/IMG_4238.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> I kept my cheeks pink to compliment the less noticeable pink (because my upper lip is thinner) and the eye makeup to a basic bronze overcast with a basic liquid liner cat eye. The scar below my brow is reeeeally noticeable in this picture. As a child I was playing tag (indoors) with my father and ran into a wall (typical). I love scars though (this, of course, stemming from my heart surgery scar that goes from in between my collar bone and down to a couple inches above my belly button). Scars always tell a story! And there goes my scar rant....haha<br />

I just finished up with the children's show I've been rehearsing/performing for forever!! I cannot believe it's done. It was such a fun show, even with screaming children and 20+ performances. The show was "If You Take a Mouse to School" and I played the Teacher and Mother Mouse (Grandma Mouse) complete with ears. I am actually obsessed with my teacher costume (a screaming pink suit) that I'm greatly considering buying it..GREATLY! The overall theme was very pink, so I did my makeup to match. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDkjdmbkq54UgXo83GhAONTYFnZtCWInemXDvsGyH4nlkLefBiUIbVRw_zBh2iUYNahgAKz-N4Y0HkVEGYU6jabjD7alBYI8R9fhLDpWw5GxdGs1U8AWLVhwdkYqOqHjw8le1mEQuHLg6J/s1600/IMG_4070.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDkjdmbkq54UgXo83GhAONTYFnZtCWInemXDvsGyH4nlkLefBiUIbVRw_zBh2iUYNahgAKz-N4Y0HkVEGYU6jabjD7alBYI8R9fhLDpWw5GxdGs1U8AWLVhwdkYqOqHjw8le1mEQuHLg6J/s400/IMG_4070.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> UD Liquid Liner in Pervasion, MAC Creme Blush in Florida, discontinued Makeup Forever pink Lipstick, and Wet n' Wild Eyeshadow trio (magenta color) in Spoiled Brat= basic makeup usage. This is some basic old-age makeup (and old-age clothing, hello lovely not totally turtleneck...) without speckling with my favorite stipple sponge because the lighting made it...wonky. Of course, this looks super cartoony and odd, but, with the magic of stage lights, I looked relatively and realistically old. It was funny because the majority of the children didn't even realize I was both roles, haha, silly children. This was actually applied in about two minutes because, it was a quick change with the basic highlighter and character shadow from my Ben Nye makeup kit. You can see my more intense aging/realistic aging makeup <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/02/premature-aging.html">here</a>. All in all, I had a fun time, slapping on my makeup running around two shows a day, eeek! I have a ton of makeup to review/blog about now that I have a semblance of a life. Plus classes...eeek, classes...Until then...<br />

Nails! Done! My mom's friend who I've known since I was un bebe gave me some super nice Christmas presents! One of which was the Hello Kitty Noir Eyeshadow & Gloss Palette (which I will get to!) and Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail wraps in this super cute argyle pattern! I've tried the nail wraps before and really liked the idea, easy application, and overall pattern without spending hours painting on such details that wouldn't look very good, haha. I think it's certainly a product that you get better applying which each try because these turned out even better than the first time I used them back in June, <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/06/lacey-nails-and-racy-lips.html">here</a> yay! And I managed to watch 30 Rock while applying, which obvi indicates my amazing multitasking abilities...yeah...<br />

Haha, kiddingonlyhalfkidding...<br />

But, I have to be back early for the children's show I mentioned I was in. So far it has been sups fun and I'm enjoying every minute :). I also got some new MAC makeup that I will hopefully swatch/wear in the near future. Otherwise, has anyone used those Sally Hansen nail wrap? I'm really starting to enjoy them and am figuring out how to save them. Tip! They happen to be pretty long so oftentimes you can use the rounded other side and cut the wraps in half so you get two nails out of one. And once you have a bunch of random, non-complete nail sets it's fun to play around with painting your nails a color and having the patterns as accents. And, I've been decently keeping up again, haha. I'm trying amongst the play, luckily I have a lot of free time so I've been reading a book that is positively grand and thinking of more blog posts.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">~Shannon</div>Shannon http://www.blogger.com/profile/04644190184399990963noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-124939577375271580.post-33803166133754989762012-01-03T22:19:00.000-08:002012-01-03T22:19:58.253-08:00The Moment I Go To Bed, Before I Forget to Take Off My Makeup...I SAY A LITTLE PRAY FOR MYSELF..ahem *cough cough.* Geez, I am quite the lyricist with my reinvention of "I Say a Little Prayer" I should most def quit my day job...oy vey. Anyway, that was all relevant because I have been trying out different facial cleanser/makeup remover towelettes. I've stayed pretty true to Neutrogena, but, my only issue with those wipes are that they leave a super oily residue that makes you need to wash your face with a sandblaster. So, on my trip to the Mecca of facial towelettes I tried two different brands and am still...on a pilgrimage.<br />

Well, up&up has a long way to go...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The cucumber smell is nice and I like the idea of the exfoliating beads on one side of the sheet. Otherwise, the removal is pretty unremarkable and if you unfortunately believe that you can make a quick sweep and remove that pesky eye makeup, you'd be wrong. It stung like...saw dust to the eye? (#reallifeexperience). The packaging says it's safe for the eyes which is completely false (mind you I don't have sensitive eyes and don't wear contacts and all that jazz). So...nice idea, maybe take the acid out of the sheets for eye cleansing Target? Booooo...don't get this. And the camomile flavoring is a little much. Like it doesn't smell like nice gentle chamomile, more like THIS SMELLS NATURAL AND YOU WILL LIKE IT BECAUSE YOU MUST BE ORGANIC AND IF YOU ARE NOT WE WILL SHOOT ALL OUR BEES AND YOUR PUPPY! You know that kind of scent? Overwhelming. But I will probs finish these off but again, I need two for basic makeup removal that does not promise complete removal, bleh.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Soooo, any advice on towelettes dear bloggers? I've heard some good things about those say yes to blueberries or pomegranates or kumquats..? brand but otherwise I think I'll stick to Neutrogena, because as fun as applying makeup is, removing it is just as importante :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On another note, I have been obsessing over a period Masterpiece Theater mini-series from 1981 (Brideshead Revisited) starring the love of my life, Jeremy Irons, so be prepared for some 1920's-inspired makeup in the near future (mind you that was a play on the song "Be Prepared" from "The Lion King" as sung by...Jeremy Irons...yes, I am quite insane, haha..ha..ha..oy). Sooooo, remember how I said, "oh, yes, I am back blogging and being awesome in regards to blogging!!!" Weeeeelllll, that kind of fell..through...yeah. So, I am reinstating the statement of "oh, yes, I am back blogging and being awesome in regards to blogging!!!" In honor of that fact, I am showing off some of my neat-o and sparkly makeup Christmas presents! First up is none other than one of my favorite ever makeup brands eva: LIME CRIME! I've done some reviews and swatches of their lipsticks <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/07/rainbows-to-2nd-power.html">here</a> and <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/09/these-are-my-obsessions-lime-crime-lip.html">here</a> and now I was gifted by my darling mother their new winter collection of <b>Carousel Gloss</b>! There are five different glosses in the collection and I was lucky enough to get them all (only child moment). I adore lipgloss as much as any other girl because obvi my lipgloss be poppin' and cool and all the boys be...okay, I'll end that song reference here...anyway, I have a ton of lipgloss, I love it, it's fun, it's typically in adorable packaging. My one issue with gloss is that one can never ever seem to get a deep color from gloss. I ALWAYS have to put it over lipstick because it is again, never deep enough in color. <br />
Well, I have found my dream opaque gloss...i can wear it without lipstick and still have it look like the full colored lip that I never leave the house without. I have found...Carousel Gloss...*cue dramatic music and equally dramatic staring into the distance*<br />

All of my swatches are on me (obvi) and are one thin-ish coat of the gloss on bare lips.</div> Kaleidoscope: a beautiful<br />

There are turquoise "sparkles" or little bits of glitter, but they aren't super noticeable in the gloss. It's a very unique gloss color and I simply adore it. I would recommend trying it over Mac's "Rebel" lipstick or another purple of your choice.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYrosepCUGfm3o2A7q4h548jfXnOThLdft7d7uARYwLX0atOzMUe89ZogPeNtZcB_t809mGjxBf29R3hQ3eGfeu0N_gtrf6-0JG_3BAvVAu8zCOph5RgWnNhDijTcVHRCQx3HWCgcibZRR/s1600/IMG_3980.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYrosepCUGfm3o2A7q4h548jfXnOThLdft7d7uARYwLX0atOzMUe89ZogPeNtZcB_t809mGjxBf29R3hQ3eGfeu0N_gtrf6-0JG_3BAvVAu8zCOph5RgWnNhDijTcVHRCQx3HWCgcibZRR/s400/IMG_3980.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Loop-De-Loop: I'm pretty sure this gloss ties for my favorite from the collection. It's a deep sapphire that is really wearable. Because it is a darker blue it would be flattering on many different skin tones and doesn't have a super cartoon-y feel for being a "different" color. Very classy ;). Oh, I was also very excited that it matched the shirt I was wearing, haha. I also tried mixing a little on top of a red lipstick the other day and it gave it such a beautiful blue-red look that I adore. Ah, I'm rambling, but, what can I say...I'm obsessing?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYAAlbz6hFsOzy3_0d8YUqTScAaMc5F5Gf3t4jqt68TNgsE7siCVw5WKMRN9Ek8NOwNToSf0Y4Zy5GiOQ4lex0zHD6u4NWUtsP2CZWApSc9Y3oEXiLjzqQFwqnLOM3mZd7m75p93HtIOzd/s1600/IMG_3924.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYAAlbz6hFsOzy3_0d8YUqTScAaMc5F5Gf3t4jqt68TNgsE7siCVw5WKMRN9Ek8NOwNToSf0Y4Zy5GiOQ4lex0zHD6u4NWUtsP2CZWApSc9Y3oEXiLjzqQFwqnLOM3mZd7m75p93HtIOzd/s400/IMG_3924.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Golden Ticket: I'VE FOUND THE GOLDEN TICKET, FOUND THE GOLDEN TICKET! Yes, when I was applying this I had every Willy Wonka related song stuck in my head. I loveeeee love love this color. I am a sucker for metallic and shiny objects (much like a bird or a small child) and this gloss delivers. It is probs the most opaque of all of the glosses and the finish is like a golden version of mercury, haha. Plus, you can jazz basically any color of lipstick up with a bit of this on top. Frankly, I'd be very interested to see Lime Crime make a silver gloss *hint hint* :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9c-afTxpFehHBxGz0e1x5NMOhYwMcXM8GvTJ4yaPMISdsHUePLBiaYZmH7nAeFPPAmamRRrnvPB5gd7ki7e3olC6jMBGvoq1hhe3WpbDTa5vtfvBxkD-_PaEJKD6TMTaw1svjMTnrzniO/s1600/IMG_3940.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9c-afTxpFehHBxGz0e1x5NMOhYwMcXM8GvTJ4yaPMISdsHUePLBiaYZmH7nAeFPPAmamRRrnvPB5gd7ki7e3olC6jMBGvoq1hhe3WpbDTa5vtfvBxkD-_PaEJKD6TMTaw1svjMTnrzniO/s400/IMG_3940.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Cherry on Top: This gloss is a very pink red and probably my least favorite of the collection just because it is a fairly normal gloss, not that that is a bad thing. It has nice coverage and certainly works over any red or bright pink lipstick. I tried a touch over Lime Crime's "Retrofuturist" lipstick (one of the best reds out there) and really liked the effect. This gloss alone creates a more subdued red lip and really intensifies reds placed under it with a rainbow sparkle. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtY4fTx9zRQkRztuJdswSUKbAf6KeodnMohEFlaAb7fuF7nIWCozkYk232Rj1wmrt0VTPEZmM18-RIhjQuYGWDq5NtDqCxVlOHDA_QmP5JkDbSUloe2b2vV0eocfU4c25mCfY-dyIE07Sj/s1600/IMG_3950.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtY4fTx9zRQkRztuJdswSUKbAf6KeodnMohEFlaAb7fuF7nIWCozkYk232Rj1wmrt0VTPEZmM18-RIhjQuYGWDq5NtDqCxVlOHDA_QmP5JkDbSUloe2b2vV0eocfU4c25mCfY-dyIE07Sj/s400/IMG_3950.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">Candy Apple: Candy Apple has been used for all of the advertisements for the collection and certainly did not disappoint. It's red red red and obvi super pretty and opaque. With this one I really noticed the super smooth texture of the gloss that wasn't too sticky and wasn't too slippery so you'd end up with a ring of wandering gloss everywhere except your lips. </div><div style="text-align: left;"> Sooo, very pretty, no? I really love this collection as a whole and each gloss applies like a dream. The gloss brushes are fairly small and therefore manageable and gives a precise application that again, means you won't have gloss on your chin and such. </div><div style="text-align: left;"> In conclusion, I really recommend the Carousel Gloss collection. The packaging is adorable, the colors are beautiful, they have full coverage, and are sparkly :D. The price is a liiiittle steep for gloss ($17 a tube, $65 for all five) but, personally, I think it's worth it. </div><div style="text-align: left;">I hope all of you had a fabulous New Year and may 2012 be filled with fun, makeup, and me actually updating my blog, haha.</div><div style="text-align: left;">~Shannon</div>Shannon http://www.blogger.com/profile/04644190184399990963noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-124939577375271580.post-56963967552374247772011-10-31T18:59:00.000-07:002011-10-31T18:59:24.444-07:00They're HERRREEEI am a terrible, terrible takes three years to say how terrible blogger I am. Well, I hope you missed me greatly, seeing as I took a nice little month break from my blog. School has been terribly busy combined with theater literally and figuratively eating my soul and physical being. So, yes, I've been busy...very busy. So, I'm back and filled with coolio makeup ideas and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive my absence. *Bows* ANNNND of course, I did not get a halfway decent picture of my Halloween costume (I was a flight attendant) and I was of course, wearing the coolest flair fake eyelashes. How laaaaaaame. So, here is some old forgotten makeup dabbles and I will return later with full looks with products once again. It feels good to be back :3<br />

OCC is most-well known I believe for their Lip Tars (highly pigmented not quite lipsticks, not quite glosses) and then a bunch of professional airbrushes and so on. Well, I ordered about five Lip Tars and a nail polish that was on sale and the next day I got a call from a representative saying that the polish and one of the tars were sold out, so I got to pick any color I wanted and soooooooo, I got a polish and tar from their new Pretty Boy campaign for F/W 2011. The person was so nice from OCC and even dealt with my insanity over choosing what colors I wanted, haha. A+ customer service always wins me over :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg42YpaItVbS54bOEZzhBjnBE5FEskHCYVX9BMk4ILyO1r8zEZQlJ2y5QLwjgJafQxc3eOPjnHOFze5uM5jZ2OgeJ1GPKPHx353K6-JiPYdTCSwoj6LbBQ-S_YbJPupvAPRQ8-FvOatDo84/s1600/prettyboyweb2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="322" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg42YpaItVbS54bOEZzhBjnBE5FEskHCYVX9BMk4ILyO1r8zEZQlJ2y5QLwjgJafQxc3eOPjnHOFze5uM5jZ2OgeJ1GPKPHx353K6-JiPYdTCSwoj6LbBQ-S_YbJPupvAPRQ8-FvOatDo84/s400/prettyboyweb2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Campaign photo, very creative, love!</div><div style="text-align: center;"> Photo credit: OCC's Website: http://www.occmakeup.com/fw2011.html</div><br />

Lip Tar in Butch! It's a super cool periwinkle. My friend Fran always wants me to wear it because I was with her when I stole her computer in the middle of a busy building and was loudly on the phone going, "yeah, yeah I think I'll take Butch over Pretty Boy." May I add it only took one drop of the tar to cover my lips and it's a really nice texture and non-sticky and non-drying.<br />

This is three coats and so far I've worn it for a week and it has had really minimal chipping. My roomie Bridget and I are both wearing it, so it's extra adorbs. I love blue and green nail polish so now I have my sights set on this neonish teal and this really great swamp green. Granted, I need more nail polish like I need a hole in the head. <br />

Wig Time!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hi, so this is a little post from Friday~~~~Wheeeeeee! There was a theatre party and of course my lovely chums and I decided to go all out on mismatching (the theme of the party) like dorks and this is what happens. I of course don't have any serious makeup looks, just this adorbsness</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ6OgA8G6jgLHFiCvN4l2Frie7ZMhbMrTJdwxMp9PagWRBw8aLY3cHECEP8yNbBZqw7GojA6VHCyh9t3Fbz_nCket7wKEpH925khaREVFksQH45dtKVYzEgP_oWbS3au20y2XewGLO-VCB/s1600/yaayyy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ6OgA8G6jgLHFiCvN4l2Frie7ZMhbMrTJdwxMp9PagWRBw8aLY3cHECEP8yNbBZqw7GojA6VHCyh9t3Fbz_nCket7wKEpH925khaREVFksQH45dtKVYzEgP_oWbS3au20y2XewGLO-VCB/s400/yaayyy.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> So it goes me, my friend Mary (would you please notice her cheekbones which are amazing) and my roomie/love of my life Bridget! So, I'm wearing Lime Crime lipstick in No She Didn't, Mary is sporting OCC's Lip Tar in Anime (which I'm obsessed with) and Bridgie is all decked out in Mint to Be by Lime Crime (which I picked out and it looked ah-maz-ing on her, esp with purple hair). I really want to steal Bridget's wig to add to my collection (the other two are mine)...so, she better watch out for some future kidnapping attempts. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVD5IlmHbyL4AFitIQ0vAIVHNRcEo5ndpfy7NHJapGw6PsLIPB-qTNCLAm4pWIwxw3F5Vo4Ldht3C-7Vg2wF1CKMfe4c8gmmScPt3iakbfQfY6Py-8zY-uewSjYso_kzuVmewkRX-OkAzP/s1600/cutsies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVD5IlmHbyL4AFitIQ0vAIVHNRcEo5ndpfy7NHJapGw6PsLIPB-qTNCLAm4pWIwxw3F5Vo4Ldht3C-7Vg2wF1CKMfe4c8gmmScPt3iakbfQfY6Py-8zY-uewSjYso_kzuVmewkRX-OkAzP/s400/cutsies.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I think we ended up looking a bit Harajuku or something like that, haha. Great college times + cool lipstick + WIIIIIGS! = great college times. Oh, and I will apparently be helping out with makeup for MU's production of<i> Little Shop of Horrors</i> (I'm also head of wardrobe) which will be super fun because it's old age makeup, which I luuuurv. Bridge is taking stage makeup class right now so of course I'm exceedingly jealous, wah!<br />
Oh, and I also got cast in a student-run directing scene, so I will be even more busy, haha. I'm sups excited though because it's Neil Simon and I get to play a 50-year-old aka my calling, so life is good. Hope you all had a fab weekend!<br />

This was a look I did based off a picture of Elizabeth Taylor for some much needed 1950's style makeup. Well, I noticed that it's basically my normal makeup with more filled in eyebrows and highlighter, haha. And EPA stress, my NARS Multiple in Cococabana is like five applications away from being gone. Sadface. Uggg, but I don't want to get a new one because they're pretty expensive...but they do last forever...hmmmm.<br />

I'm sups tired and just got back-ish from HOURS! *dramatic sigh* of auditions for student-run directing scenes. I also got some makeup from OCC which I will review soon, eeeeeek (as my title stated) I am running behind in my makeup insanity! Oh, I also have a little poll on my sidebar if any of you beauties cared to answer :D.<br />

As you all probs know I reviewed my Lime Crime Lipstick Rainbow here: <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/07/rainbows-to-2nd-power.html">HERE</a>!!!! And now I can say that not only did I complete my rainbow with the lipstick D'Lilac BUT I was also lucky enough to get their new fall collection (Lip Noir) and let's just say, even more obsessed! Plus, it came mere days after ordering...we're talking like three days. Oh, and I'm majorly obsessed with film noir...so lip noir is like hitting two birds with one stone? Haha.<br />

It's described as a "medium gray with lavender undertones" and, it's exactly that! Haha. It's almost like a fall version of D'Lilac. I wasn't sure if this would be a very wearable color, but, it turned out to be very, very wearable. It's also a very unique color and I'm already sad it's limited edition...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2IWz2bidiGvTTXQpygRIV01zy8d3wgh5L6lWHQSoTgpi764PMHW5KZQZA3s-bWYwpuVLx1SR5C_zXbYvymvmo-igyABNQc6Qd6qgMojLrm4mUegPZUQ8PxWW1cJSJbWEOvZyl76V9hbxb/s1600/IMG_3468.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2IWz2bidiGvTTXQpygRIV01zy8d3wgh5L6lWHQSoTgpi764PMHW5KZQZA3s-bWYwpuVLx1SR5C_zXbYvymvmo-igyABNQc6Qd6qgMojLrm4mUegPZUQ8PxWW1cJSJbWEOvZyl76V9hbxb/s400/IMG_3468.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Glamour101: "Deep wine-red with berry undertones." Yay for another beautiful red color from Lime Crime! Again, this is like a "falled-up" version of their normal red. It's a really beautiful color with great lasting time and really full coverage. This formula of lipstick seems to be a lot more hydrating too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK84F45N-C5H9ANyPMvIdrpQlZlygjNzd7dTzu5DT4T5svPLdlYWN3Qftp5YZbI7nIMHJ5lRPF8_5wL3O_APggoX_p0EMZz4kwtR1nW5p6SlchCF6sTcxTzkn-6ea_sZFR9ED48_wUzLf-/s1600/IMG_2698.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK84F45N-C5H9ANyPMvIdrpQlZlygjNzd7dTzu5DT4T5svPLdlYWN3Qftp5YZbI7nIMHJ5lRPF8_5wL3O_APggoX_p0EMZz4kwtR1nW5p6SlchCF6sTcxTzkn-6ea_sZFR9ED48_wUzLf-/s400/IMG_2698.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Styletto: Yes, you have already seen this picture because I already have this lipstick, haha. I'm even wearing the same necklace, what a coincidence. Like I said before, this is my first black lipstick and I really love it. Again, incredible coverage, love it, me speaking like a broken record. :)<br />
<br />
So, overall review of this fall collection....I would marry it? I love it with an unhealthy obsession? Actually, with my gushing over Lime Crime you would never know that I'm actually a very critical person...like to a point of insanity sometimes :P But, Lime Crime has everything I love and want in makeup. Plus, this was a present for getting into a show finally, yeahhh.....<br />
Oh, I'm also including a picture of D'Lilac, which I will be adding to my Lipstick Rainbow post as well, you know, so its feelings aren't hurt ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdwCTQLy6_-NxDNx3ZN5Fw5VsFHmdV3XVYOOABNcizVzBl7SLb_daNu3Z7vHLPDUfxE0RTyv0wxIzclNsQDLuv9IwRrGtIUfV6prkXDs06hLKsXhY0pT643lsIbVsb4d9TpYyPdJfgo7aL/s1600/IMG_3413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdwCTQLy6_-NxDNx3ZN5Fw5VsFHmdV3XVYOOABNcizVzBl7SLb_daNu3Z7vHLPDUfxE0RTyv0wxIzclNsQDLuv9IwRrGtIUfV6prkXDs06hLKsXhY0pT643lsIbVsb4d9TpYyPdJfgo7aL/s400/IMG_3413.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>D'Lilac: Yay for pastel purples! Because it's a lighter color it's a little bit difficult to get it looking neat, but I've found it's best to dab a little on your lips, dab a little off with a tissue and then apply a full swipe or two to get even coverage. It's surprisingly vibrant for a pastel and most def one of my favs.<br />
So, go get this now? That sounds like a plan. Lime Crime has really become one of my favorite makeup brands. I really like how involved they are with their social media sites and responding to people's questions and concerns. I know I would go insane if I had to answer the same question nine million times on their facebook page, haha. Apparently they're coming out with eyeliners in the spring aka we we we so excited...we so excited. Actually, all I want is more lipstick. I need to go to lipstick anonymous...<br />

In other news, I was also super busy because I had monologues to memorize for auditions that were the first day of class and would you believe it, I got cast in a show! It's the children's show "If You Take a Mouse to School," and it sounds adorable and I'm just so excited to be in a mainstage show. I will be playing Teacher/Mother Mouse, so if any of you fancy coming to Milwaukee to see a children's play...just let me know ;)<br />
Otherwise, I am doing homework and going to the occasional party this lovely holiday weekend. I hope everyone is doing fabulously, I missed blogging! And I promise my next post will be somehow related to makeup!<br />

For today's look as a continuation of my Disney Villains look I did *drumroll* Dr. Facilier from "The Princess and the Frog." And I have to say I absolutely looooove his character, his voice, his song, ahhhh! I even sang his song "Friends on the Other Side" for an audition :3 which worked out nicely with my edging on baritone voice for singing, hahai'mamanwhat?hhahaha...anyway, this was kind of a more...creative interpretation of his character as opposed to a literal one. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXEOwsRTgpP2UoCJx-skJ_m45Gcw6ca9eIVYJ8gOo_Kh2-vPtiXL2c7DDlY-0tWvD_Obgfp4ZFPGjJPOiplnEgedreq8lg0DSprP6VdCu9qBwFqN_GztXXM2vwCY-CUtKzxpGRzpMTRAiJ/s1600/IMG_3286.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXEOwsRTgpP2UoCJx-skJ_m45Gcw6ca9eIVYJ8gOo_Kh2-vPtiXL2c7DDlY-0tWvD_Obgfp4ZFPGjJPOiplnEgedreq8lg0DSprP6VdCu9qBwFqN_GztXXM2vwCY-CUtKzxpGRzpMTRAiJ/s320/IMG_3286.jpg" width="309" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Close-up on the eye</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhChzXO8p5KHvEP6kTSpDXXxMjqKV76pWxDi37QgGu3zNOmHO0dIpnLBLD_cyheM4Jae5mTnpbZRnV02DAY8DRsRYOnv7Hfnym3o0gKPfZR5uFBUQDd6iCerjIhZ-Jo4b9f3I-9vI1UYuut/s1600/1004goodman02_Dr_Facilier.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhChzXO8p5KHvEP6kTSpDXXxMjqKV76pWxDi37QgGu3zNOmHO0dIpnLBLD_cyheM4Jae5mTnpbZRnV02DAY8DRsRYOnv7Hfnym3o0gKPfZR5uFBUQDd6iCerjIhZ-Jo4b9f3I-9vI1UYuut/s320/1004goodman02_Dr_Facilier.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> The Doctor himself</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgULkZ-G-NcdJ4G3HNYaDMZQlEGgrmh0JsiD4gLL1znijAlqM5fPV4gxDl-oV0rELIE_ae1tp6TpIvpjSk0QUgSthB6LktAYqYbRkcihgASNPc4ZWtZc2GIIw_swVuYikyvo2cw9mFd6EfL/s1600/IMG_3292.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgULkZ-G-NcdJ4G3HNYaDMZQlEGgrmh0JsiD4gLL1znijAlqM5fPV4gxDl-oV0rELIE_ae1tp6TpIvpjSk0QUgSthB6LktAYqYbRkcihgASNPc4ZWtZc2GIIw_swVuYikyvo2cw9mFd6EfL/s400/IMG_3292.jpg" width="298" /></a></div> God, it was sooooo hard to get a decent picture of this, curse my ability or lack there of to capture a decent picture, stresss. Anyway, I got a lot of my inspiration from Dr. Facilier's shadow (hence the shadowing/mirroring of the eyelashes) and some good old fashioned voodoo potions and things associated with all that jazz. The color palette is derived from the character's colors (purple mainly). I used Eyeko's purple eyeliner and Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in actually every purple color they make alongside liquid liner in Perversion. The purple glitter was of the Nyx variety and the lashes are from EyesLipsFace. The "smoke" was because of this character's frequent use of smoke and even glittery smoke :D. I chose feather lashes because of some voodoo items that were in Facilier's parlor. Voodoo for real creeps me out to no end, but when using cute feather lashes, it doesn't seem as scary...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijrhU3KYlNXYejZa9Qha6O08xpebZOdaXwtKdxz4L706QHsL5x66EhqVU3_0IgYHt5sv6K2Zhz4ULkKh08j70R1td3s9P8ZzPwJ8E_7WpggRiZ-Q3AIQtacuqGZb9WL5M4J7FrEQSJ3xll/s1600/IMG_3295.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijrhU3KYlNXYejZa9Qha6O08xpebZOdaXwtKdxz4L706QHsL5x66EhqVU3_0IgYHt5sv6K2Zhz4ULkKh08j70R1td3s9P8ZzPwJ8E_7WpggRiZ-Q3AIQtacuqGZb9WL5M4J7FrEQSJ3xll/s400/IMG_3295.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>My lip color was a mix of NAR's Lipstick in Funny Face and Revlon's Orchid with an unnamed (for real) Nyx Gloss that was magenta in color. I darkened my eyebrows with NARS' Eyeshadow in Night Bird. All of these villains have such dark brows!<br />
On another note, my blog keeps on getting referred by a goth dating site...what hell? I have some major confusion over that one. Maybe it's because I'm into the Disney Villains, haha. And otherwise I have been sups busy packing for college and buying for college and reading books when I should be looking at and memorizing monologues...whoops? And only two more days of work, eeeek! Summer went by oh so quickly. Until my next post...<br />

Brow bone was Covergirl's Eye Enhancer in Golden Sunrise. Brows were filled-in and enhanced with NARS' Eyeshadow in Night Bird. Red eye detailing and upper lip liner was Harajuku Lovers Red Lip Pencil. So, if anyone has any Villains they are dying to see, please let me know :). Otherwise, my other news was that I recently got a Beautylish account. Alright, until later darlings!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I've been pretty busy as of late, so I have been neglecting my blog for a little bit here, whoops. So, here's a dorky little picture of me in glasses:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7krglbxWiOx8KlS0X6kd4sIzeQp8vsFBuMxf0s0nRgtrv-3gXLZ-wu7pY95323KU7rJ3QaDZLtu41ai9niveQQR0XindeeIFDdvgVqZywh6_MLBsJuYq5NVUVm23HEgLfYnwanu2-z4uI/s1600/IMG_3145.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7krglbxWiOx8KlS0X6kd4sIzeQp8vsFBuMxf0s0nRgtrv-3gXLZ-wu7pY95323KU7rJ3QaDZLtu41ai9niveQQR0XindeeIFDdvgVqZywh6_MLBsJuYq5NVUVm23HEgLfYnwanu2-z4uI/s400/IMG_3145.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> Okay, so I'll tell the truth, I don't really wear glasses. I do have an obsession with glasses though and try and get my paws on any fake glasses that have clear lenses. As a child I was so upset I had 20/20 vision not to mention both my parents wear glasses. But, these glasses actually do help with my annoying allergies where light can really irritate my eyes, so it's not all totally insane. Only half so. <br />
Because these glasses are pretty big, I did a simple eye with a sample of black Lancome eyeliner that I actually really liked. The color didn't smudge too much throughout the day and it was pretty pigmented. I used NARS' Multiple in Cococabana for highlighting and Eyeko Fatbalm in Frosting on mi cheeks. Because of the dark frames of my glasses I decided to do a lighter lip. Being indecisive about what Lime Crime Lipstick to use, I mixed three together: Coquette, Great Pink Planet, and Countessa Florescent. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYc0nt1ixCOH-nvusaockOnS6jEHZLRaKlQUWKM3LnL-fbQ_bmEjyHwsCH8KzGpBl_ZvuwiTTldOcmRwBPffHGB2J_pnleiM36C8LwbtsweSxbsq0wzKqNXCU-qd3HY6YQCrToFNX7SkHS/s1600/IMG_3139.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYc0nt1ixCOH-nvusaockOnS6jEHZLRaKlQUWKM3LnL-fbQ_bmEjyHwsCH8KzGpBl_ZvuwiTTldOcmRwBPffHGB2J_pnleiM36C8LwbtsweSxbsq0wzKqNXCU-qd3HY6YQCrToFNX7SkHS/s320/IMG_3139.jpg" width="191" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">Oh, I got a bottle of Marc Jacob's Oh, Lola!!! For $8!!! Only because I spent nine million dollars at Ulta, so I guess it isn't the best deal...oh, well! I actually think I like this better than the normal Lola perfume, it has a lighter more flowery-citrus scent than Lola, which is pretty musky. </div><div style="text-align: left;"> So, besides being super busy I managed to see three movies this weekend...what? The Future, The Help, and Sarah's Key. I recommend all of them and I will happily tell anyone about them if asked, being a film minor and all, haha...ha...ha...oh...I start college again soon, eek!</div><div style="text-align: left;">~Shannon</div>Shannon http://www.blogger.com/profile/04644190184399990963noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-124939577375271580.post-57797307858214067332011-08-09T23:06:00.000-07:002011-08-09T23:06:43.620-07:00A Little Annoyed, A Little Accepting<div style="text-align: center;">***What? Only a handful of people have bothered to sign up for my <a href="http://lipstickmakesthegirl.blogspot.com/2011/08/another-giveaway-part-two-plot-thickens.html">GIVEAWAY</a>? How crazy! So go ahead and enter. It will bring me happiness and yourself happiness if you win***</div><br />
Hi...it was a sad day this weekend when a man at Ulta told me this weekend that my favorite, life-changing, makeup staple, the product that would be included in my life if I could only use 5 products is DISCONTINUED! WHY URBAN DECAY, WHY ARE YOU SO CRUEL!?????? Their liquid liner is the best ever and now they discontinued it for their new <b>24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner</b>. They carried it in my normal color (Perversion) so I went ahead and got it to see how it compared. And now I will air my grievances against this product:<br />
<br />
1. The formula dries shinier than the old one.<br />
2. It is also thicker, so more product is used.<br />
3. The handle of the bottle is a little clunkier.<br />
4. A little less precision due to the bottle design.<br />
5. The main grievence: The size. I understand that companies want to make as much money as they can, but they slashed the amount of liner in a bottle by...over half?!? The old liner used to contain 0.25 fl oz... and now it's 0.058? What? What? And the same price. That makes me peeved to say the least. Urban Decay could at least have the same amount of product, oy vey. But, all of this does not necessarily mean I will not use this liner nor swear off Urban Decay (they have some of the best products). It's just one of those hinderances that make people hate companies when in reality there's really nothing that can be done.<br />
<br />
Okay, rant ooooover! Here's some positive aspects of this liner:<br />
1. Lasts forever<br />
2. Even though it has a clunkier feel, it can deliver a nice, clean line and a lovely wing.<br />
3. Very pigmented, I sampled a few of the other colors on my hand and they were nicely colored.<br />
4. Overall, a lovely water-proof liner, but pales in comparison with their old liner. If you did not have the chance to compare I'm sure that you could have different views on it.<br />
<br />
Now, because I was missing my dear Perversion liner oh so much, I could put it to good use! Here's my makeup from yesterday and today using my new liner:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibOA0weYaCEhBd84lmyJYnCT8wFHfJJbTOAu3kDLbLEMb3lZb8UWuy65483tJ7ow0J7ekEut46DfLKcaQ4Dbd_ITzwzWPrPxriTEj466ZoCq_JS-6HpuAAlg7o9UqzGDnQGMbN9f1_e6OW/s1600/IMG_3055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibOA0weYaCEhBd84lmyJYnCT8wFHfJJbTOAu3kDLbLEMb3lZb8UWuy65483tJ7ow0J7ekEut46DfLKcaQ4Dbd_ITzwzWPrPxriTEj466ZoCq_JS-6HpuAAlg7o9UqzGDnQGMbN9f1_e6OW/s400/IMG_3055.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> So, it looks pretty much the same applied, only a little glossier. Lipstick is Lime Crime's Retrofuterist and Eyeshadow is a mix of Lime Crime's Magic Dust in Diva and Covergirl Eye Enhancer in Golden Sunrise and MAC...Lemon Yellow Color...whoops, can't find the eyeshadow I used...I'll fix that once I find it. Highlighting was done with NARS Multiple in Cococabana and NARS Blush in Orgasm is on le cheeks. <br />

I went to see "Crazy, Stupid Love" with my friend Erin (which was amazing, I luuuurved it) and she flipped out when she saw the matchyness. It must be her color-cordinating preppy-ness taking over. She pulls it off quite well and is extremely stylish with good taste. I shall one day feature her here :)<br />

Dun dun...dun dun...DAH!My favorite holiday week in the whole universe is SHARK WEEK! AJFve37378&%%#$^%$%&*!!!! And I'm not one of those people who happen upon Shark Week, I legit knew when it was coming. And, with Shark Week being pretty popular and such (trending on twitter=popular...hahaha..hah.ha) I'm surprised that there has been no shark-inspired makeup. Really? I mean, sharks totes deserve a week to themselves and therefore deserve makeup inspired by frothing bloody water and the consumption of adorable water creatures. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzQgivoSfzqa_6482Gm5N_p5LsugnnGR2p-8yWeWnKy6XT4QhBRsrS78W_DPcjghHkXk378Qz9PE9s-Dsifzu2-c_eJvxVbjxrsx419qafCf567x2j8ImBfyp9X4LN2A8nG4PAKG06GCLZ/s1600/IMG_2987.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzQgivoSfzqa_6482Gm5N_p5LsugnnGR2p-8yWeWnKy6XT4QhBRsrS78W_DPcjghHkXk378Qz9PE9s-Dsifzu2-c_eJvxVbjxrsx419qafCf567x2j8ImBfyp9X4LN2A8nG4PAKG06GCLZ/s400/IMG_2987.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> When good lips turn into sharks...just a cute little something-something I did when I was bored with my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case (Red, Black/White, White)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDCPNNsBoEMhWZ8R9zS6BJSZJbKGSzu0EjgJ50dDJvANc5bzZt11XfmNu4ISZNwg5Ogcd6shmKrZa0om0ng0ujlKzHW0tm9kWqHQwZxcLI6q6N0-4_dOmVaY-zr0tky0MMeDqyMvjq59Yb/s1600/IMG_3015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDCPNNsBoEMhWZ8R9zS6BJSZJbKGSzu0EjgJ50dDJvANc5bzZt11XfmNu4ISZNwg5Ogcd6shmKrZa0om0ng0ujlKzHW0tm9kWqHQwZxcLI6q6N0-4_dOmVaY-zr0tky0MMeDqyMvjq59Yb/s400/IMG_3015.jpg" width="300" /></a></div> I'm a shark! Again, I used my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Color Case for the eye. I coated my lids with the silver and than did detail lines and "gills" on my eyelids with black. It was just a lot of blending and surrounding the eye in silver. I added Nyx Glitter Cream Palette Glitter (in Paradise--Silver) extending from the bottom of my eyes and at the last minute decided on some red stripes a la chumming the proverbial water alongside the red dots by the corners of my eyes. Haha, I feel like my explanation is not as detailed as I normally am...it's probs because I've been having issues doing looks I feel are worthy enough to waste energy on...one of those makeup...blocks?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikzaGEyHKLqsxvIgjJiS9JSyW1XAy9Kp7hMGte6Mr4gPPlb6YBk4fOD7frw0AkmLccPhqQ2tbD8Jd92xoco1V6d08Mz516oTWwf9m-51KWF2mjr7lcqmwzDPxSBwpVuebtTSEb9pLGz0gA/s1600/IMG_3017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikzaGEyHKLqsxvIgjJiS9JSyW1XAy9Kp7hMGte6Mr4gPPlb6YBk4fOD7frw0AkmLccPhqQ2tbD8Jd92xoco1V6d08Mz516oTWwf9m-51KWF2mjr7lcqmwzDPxSBwpVuebtTSEb9pLGz0gA/s320/IMG_3017.jpg" width="240" /></a></div> Lips were lined and filled with a Harjuku Lovers Red Lip Pencil. And coated with NARS Gloss in Indian Red (LOOOOVE IT!). I chose red because, again, sharks mouths are actually very red and they tend to be all bloody, yay! I highlighted with the Silver I used on my eyelids. <br />

Okay, so yesterday..or this morning? I realized that my Eyeko post was a little half-baked/half-assed, therefore, I decided to delve deeper into the Liptastiks and such. I forgot to add that the name "Liptastiks" kind of drives me bonkers. It's like the equivalent of asking for some stupid breakfast special in the makeup world. Like, yes, I want the Wakey, Wakey Eggs and Bakey special with a side of Liptastiks...oy vey. Otherwise, no complaints :)<br />
So, I got all three because it was a deal and I have to say my favorites are "Lip Lover" and "Hot Lips." Loud Mouth has a little less pizzaz than the other two, not to say I wouldn't wear it. The formulas are super creamy and surprisingly, stay put. I was wearing Lip Lover for a number of hours and it still stayed super vibrant even with drinking and eating pomegranate seeds on a very long bus ride I may have mentioned...<br />

I think that in natural lighting Hot Lips looks a lot more plum. Loud Mouth, again is a pretty basic pink/rosy color and Lip Lover is a very orangey red. If you were thinking of getting them, I recommend just getting all three because Eyeko has a little deal where it's three for the price of two ($20). I actually received an extra one because of typing in a beauty-insider or whatever Eyeko calls it code, which I know some bloggers advertise, but, if you haven't seen it, you can take a number off of the video explaining the program on their website. <br />

I was wearing it on my face in these pictures and here's just a little sample of it rubbed into my arm. Love it!<br />
So, here's a little deeper taste of my beloved Eyeko products that are reasonably priced (yay) probs because they're geared more to the teen crowd, but who really cares about that? I'll likely go into more detail about their liners and fat balm later. Until then...<br />

</div>So, I have been MIA for a week now. I know all of you were very worried and I even saw my picture on the back of a milk carton, insert another clever little do-dah about being gone and now I'm back! And as a side note, do they even put people's pictures on milk cartons anymore? Anyway, I've been gone mainly because I was in Chicago/suburban area of Chicago as a surprise to my lovely friend Bridget who was in a production of Cats, which I planned with my roommate, I mean, friend Mary. Bridget actually designed the makeup for the entire production of Cats she was in and once I hear from her, I'm planning on posting a picture of her cool kitty makeup. So, I couldn't really tell the blogosphere about my plan because I know my friends read my blog on occasion, so it needed to be a complete surprise. I even took the 8-hour mega bus ride to see Mary and Bridget and if anyone has taken it or heard about it, it is and isn't as bad as everyone says. <br />
Changing gears...I went to one of my favorite bands concert tonight. The group is called Pink Martini and they're so amazing. It was a great concert even if the main vocalist was sick and this was the..seventh time I've seen them in concert. They're one of those bands that sound almost better in concert aka have actual talent and don't use autotune :D Look them up! Better yet, I will post a song..or two.<br />

I remember that as a child/tween Nordstrom used to carry Eyeko and I loooved it. They stopped carrying it and I forgot about it. I decided to re-try a sampling of products and I can whole-heartedly say I love them all. The packaging is cute and simple enough. The colors are pretty, the products are of nice quality and I recommend the products to makeup-lovers :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibfTXwjEEiCCc_MXySPICdqZXIM93ZCor-Gev6LcXHa-XiRIBW0kyOIGCQ7Y2-8bxKEq1HFM7vjqpZKpGbSIg-UHx64ZWR0mCzU4ZWOUYTMdS4d1wQLd6eOdRqqNa-HkG0ye5U6g3K6D_u/s1600/IMG_2505.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibfTXwjEEiCCc_MXySPICdqZXIM93ZCor-Gev6LcXHa-XiRIBW0kyOIGCQ7Y2-8bxKEq1HFM7vjqpZKpGbSIg-UHx64ZWR0mCzU4ZWOUYTMdS4d1wQLd6eOdRqqNa-HkG0ye5U6g3K6D_u/s400/IMG_2505.jpg" width="345" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought a set of their Liptastik Glossy Lip Pens and the colors are so pretty and go on super smooth. It's super think and really makes the face glow. It's a perfect cream really. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today for the concert I had actually worn almost all Eyeko products, but of course forgot to take a picture. Maybe tomorrow will be better for picture-taking. Eeek, it's actually quite late on my end, so I better be hoping off to bed. I ended up sleeping all day because I couldn't sleep on the bus. My sleeping pattern must be preparing for my return to college in a month, double eeek! I have been a huge Winehouse for years and it's just so sad how many demons and what a mess such a talented artist had. She really reinvented popular music and made classic jazz and blues mainstream. It's just unfortunate that she didn't put out another album, but then again, she's been in pretty rough shape for a while. Anyway, besides her voice, her iconic makeup and hair is...iconic. I decided to do a Winehouse inspired look while listening to the album "Back to Black" on repeat. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_hbUFMaJYq5vShfrCCxQiZWCpfekJDb2ekX4qQTtw0wU5Iz4xiwUJRgySq2wxO4p3m_cyvCNGLcvcCDPSiw6_5OMWKM8079cYkmHaioBhv5fmn9qKC8NhALLkiVTvpyCgCJF777NQ6ABH/s1600/IMG_2828.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_hbUFMaJYq5vShfrCCxQiZWCpfekJDb2ekX4qQTtw0wU5Iz4xiwUJRgySq2wxO4p3m_cyvCNGLcvcCDPSiw6_5OMWKM8079cYkmHaioBhv5fmn9qKC8NhALLkiVTvpyCgCJF777NQ6ABH/s400/IMG_2828.jpg" width="270" /></a></div> Her winged liner is obviously the main focal point. When researching her makeup it was interesting to see the variations of her giant wing liner. I used <b>Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner</b> in <i>Blackest Black</i> for my eyes. I used the included brush and lined my entire lid and drew guidelines for the wings and filled those in. She didn't typically have under-eye liner, so I just used some mascara. <br />

I used <b>Estee Lauder Long Lasting Lipstick</b> in <i>Rubellite</i>, dabbed it with a tissue and applied <b>MAC Kissable Lipcolour</b> in <i>Vanity Fair</i> to pink things up. I teased my hair, which is now a rat's nest too, but it's not a complete look without an attempt at a beehive.<br />
