M.I.A...Third World Democracy, I Got More Records Than the KGB Sooo No Funny Business

Again, I've really been neglecting my blog, whoops...school has really been kicking into high gear, so I don't have much free time...or that time is dedicated to napping :) Anyway, here are some recent springish looks I have revolving my favorite Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Pervasion.
This mix of pink and blue was some old MAC for Hello Kitty, so of course it is impossible to find because they stop making the colors after two days...le sigh. The lipstick was a purplish pink from Hot Topic, which I also lined my bottom lids in, which if I do say so myself, looks really cool in that first picture (unedited if you can believe it).
This look was to match the green outfit I was wearing and the lid color was a mix of Urban Decay's Eyeshadow in Half Baked and the green color from my Makeup Forever 12 Color Set.  The lipstick was YSL in 7 I believe.
And if you didn't notice, my title is from the song "Paper Planes" by M.I.A...whenever I say  I have been or someone has been M.I.A, I always start singing that song, oy vey.

Life is a Cabaret

My blog has been kind of like a neglected child...I hope my parental/blog rights won't be taken away because that could be eppppppppppa stresssss!
The last month has been beyond busy and FINALLY!!! all this week I've been on spring break, which has been lovely.  Today I visited one of my favorite places, Interact, which is a center specializing in the visual and performing arts for people with disabilities.  I volunteered there all of last summer and really miss it.  It was so nice to catch up with people and get some new makeup ideas :)
Anyway, I was talking about this blog and somebody was asking about flapper makeup...which, made me think of this adorable portrait my friend drew of me a la sally in cabaret....WHICH, made me bring out this look-alike I did in makeup class of me as Liza in cabaret...enjoy!
The lovely portrait Carson Funk did of me with a bear as the emcee...I'm actually in love with this >_<

The real deal aka liza. I tried some thinning of my nose to get it more like hers with highlight and shadow and followed a combo of some of her looks in the movie cabaret (using my Ben Nye Kit).
Oh, and if you're questioning the mole compared to the real liza, all my pictures are mirror images because I used my iPhone.

THE EYELASHES!! haha, I used two pairs of fake lashes and I still think they could have been bigger like liza's.  These lashes were the super cheap ones you can find at walgreen's for like four dollars.

I do really think my life is a cabaret and I cannot believe it's almost time to finish up my spring semester, eeeeek!

Messed Up Day Calls for Neons

I couldn't get a good picture this morning because my roommate's friend was awkly staring at me..so this will have to do, haha.
So, today I had a really screwed up day with my friend Michael...we went to the mall...this lame one in Wisconsin and saw the movie Beastly, which was an abbbbossssluteeee train wreck aka should win many Oscars, ah ha ha ha ha.  The makeup was the one saving grace to it though and I really want to find a bald young man to try it out on...any takers?  ANYWAY, we sat through that hot tranny mess, ate really stupidly, went to Build a Bear and decided to make this screwed up illegitimate love child named S&M after our radio show...when asked why we were making this bear (dog) we responded, "because we're sick." It was really one of those days.
Michael modeling his lovely panda look...oy vey

For my mall outing, I did black liquid liner (my usual Urban Decay in Pervasion) and one of my absolute favorite Makeup Forever screaming pink lipsticks...WHICH THEY DON'T MAKE ANYMORE.  I am very irate over the whole situation... but I digress, i smeared on some L'Occitane lipgloss that is shimmery lemon and honey flavored and I absolutely adore it :) For highlighting, I used a NARS Multiple in Cococabana A very easy look, but super dramatic...like me...

Side note: The pearl necklace I'm wearing is a Betsey Johnson and goes with absolutely everything.

Mustaches Always Make Me More Quizzical

As I sit in the green room of my lovely theater...waiting for a talkback to finish up so I can put costumes away (I'm working wardrobe) I think my waiting would be a lot less boring and I would look a lot more intelligent if I had this crepe hair mustache I made in makeup class.  At the moment, it's looking a bit bedraggled, but the memory of it remains in these photos, so enjoy :)
The mustache was made by trimming and ironing crepe hair and applying it to liquid latex that I brushed on my upper lip.  It's a tedious process but nice if you need a faux mustache for just a couple shows because after about three wears it falls apart.

No Time! aka only got 4 minutes to save the world

Being in the midst of an extremely long play schedule does not leave much time for...life, let alone my makeup, but I managed to scrape together this look in under five minutes :D

All it took was a couple sweeps of Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Rockstar around my eyes, smudged that up a bit and added some shimmery pink Tokidoki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Peperoncino.  I curled my lashes, applied some Maybelline: The Turbo Volume Express Hydrofuge Mascara and my eyes were done.  I dabbed some MAC Creme Color Base in Movie Star Red on my cheeks and the face was done.  Finally, to achieve that purpley-magenta-blue lip color i applied Stila- long wear lip color-matte in Intriguing its a great color that goes with everything and has some deep magenta to its hue.  Plus, it lasts super long.  To give my lips some shine and to deepen the color, I swiped on some of MAC's Kissable Lipcolour in Peacocky, which is a screaming blue color.  We're talking blue blue blue!
What do you think of my under five look? Oh, and I will certainly be using some pure blue gloss in future looks :)
